Call it the land of the spiritual dwelling or a sanctuary… The winter capital of Himachal Pradesh…the abode of Deodars and Pine trees, the place is a heaven for nature lovers. Situated in the picturesque Kangra valley and set against the Dhauladhar mountain range in Himachal Pradesh, Dharamsala is ideal for nature lovers. It is a visual and spiritual retreat for the people exhausted from the never-ending hustle bustle of the much fast paced life in today’s world.

Dharamshala is home to the Tibetan community and epicentre of religious tourism centred around Tibetan Buddhism. The upper Dharamshala, also commonly known as McLeod Ganj is the seat of Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama and the lower Dharamshala is more of a commercial district. The closest airport is the Gaggal airport at Kangra.

The best time to visit Dharamshala is between March till October as the weather is neither too hot nor too cold and just perfect to make best use of all the time and gather wonderful memories.

Apart from the natural beauty and scenic views of the mountains, Dharamshala is also very popular with adventure lovers, para-gliders and an appropriate choice for the backpackers. It also serves as a trekkers’ paradise with its breath-taking snow-capped mountains.
